Lee Hanjoong — Solo Sculpture Exhibition
Lee Hanjoong — Solo Sculpture Exhibition April 4–16, 2025 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Closed on Mondays) openARTs space MERGE?, Busan, South Korea MERGE Curated Invitational
...In his solo exhibition, Lee Hanjoong presents sculptures made from birch plywood, revealing the subtle beauty of natural grain and texture. These works are a meditation on the invisible principles of existence — on the essence behind all forms.

Each sculpture is identified only by a number, without a title — a gesture reflecting the artist’s belief that truth cannot be captured in language. Through his work, he reflects on perception: light, wind, mirrors, waves, even the self — all exist only in relation to something else. Everything is reflection, and in reflection lies truth.

“This” — as the artist calls it — is not something to be named, but something to be felt. Through matter, he seeks the immaterial. Through form, the formless. His sculptures invite the viewer to ask: what is real, and what is illusion?
