The European Month of Photography (EMOP) in Berlin
The European Month of Photography (EMOP) in Berlin 1 – 31 MAR 2025

The European Month of Photography (EMOP) in Berlin is a large-scale event that brings together dozens of museums, galleries and cultural institutions to offer viewers a variety of perspectives on photography as a means of making sense of the contemporary world. This year's festival is organized under the title "what stands between us", exploring the ever-present theme of divisions and conflicts that threaten democratic values.

Due to the abundance of exhibitions, it is difficult to create a single impression of the festival - the works presented are too diverse. Among the brightest representatives are the works of artists Johnny Miller, Annette Frick, Ayoung Kim, Evelyn Bencicova, and Béla Váradi. Each of them, in their own way, exposes photography as a way of visualizing political and social processes.

EMOP requires time and engagement, but if you can devote a few days to the festival, it will be a fascinating journey through the varied forms and concepts of contemporary photography.
